Latrice’s Promise is a nonprofit organization established in 2023 with a mission rooted in love, compassion, hope, and the desire to bring comfort to individuals and families facing difficult health challenges.

The vision for Latrice’s Promise was first conceived by Latrice, who was courageously battling a rare and aggressive form of cancer, leiomyosarcoma. During her treatment journey, Latrice and I began discussing our desire to create an organization that would support others facing similar challenges. Latrice was passionate about the vision and was fully committed to being a part of bringing the organization to life.

Although Latrice endured many physical and emotional challenges throughout her treatment, her strength, courage, and compassion inspired the foundation of what would become Latrice’s Promise. Sadly, Latrice did not have the opportunity to see the organization become a reality. She passed away on January 8, 2023, at the age of 44, after her courageous battle with leiomyosarcoma.

In her memory, Latrice’s Promise was formed and created with love to carry forward the vision and wishes that Latrice and I shared. One of the most meaningful ways we honor her legacy is through our Comfort in a Box initiative. We provide thoughtfully prepared comfort boxes to individuals who are experiencing the challenges of serious illnesses and treatments such as cancer, chemotherapy, radiation, dialysis, and autoimmune diseases.

Each comfort box is more than a collection of helpful items—it is a tangible reminder that someone cares, someone is thinking of you, and you are not alone in your journey. These boxes are given in honor of Latrice and represent the compassion and support she envisioned providing to others who were facing difficult days.

Latrice’s journey taught us that even in the midst of tremendous hardship, there is an opportunity to bring hope and encouragement to someone else. Through every comfort box we distribute, every person we encourage, and every family we support, we are fulfilling the promise she left behind.

Latrice’s Promise is dedicated to keeping her vision alive by providing comfort, encouragement, hope, and tangible support to those navigating life-changing illnesses.

Her life continues to make a difference through the lives we touch.

Her journey ended, but her promise lives on.
